Acute Respiratory FailureCommunity-Acquired Pneumonia

Treatments studied

Part of Infections, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This trial tests if giving steroids early, based on your immune system, can help treat severe pneumonia that needs ICU care. It aims to reduce inflammation and improve recovery.

Testing targeted anti-inflammatory drugs for severe pneumonia in the ICU

This trial tests if anti-inflammatory drugs tailored to specific germs can help patients in the ICU with severe community-acquired pneumonia recover faster. You may be eligible if you've been in the ICU less than 48 hours and meet certain diagnostic criteria.

NCT07511582Recruiting· Phase 2
Steroids for severe breathing problems in the ICU

This study tests whether a corticosteroid (a type of anti-inflammatory medicine) can help people with severe breathing problems or serious infections who have a specific 'hyperinflammatory' pattern. If you are in the ICU on a ventilator, this trial may be an option for you.

NCT07152613Not yet recruiting· Phase 3
Steroids for Pneumocystis pneumonia in ICU adults without HIV

This trial tests whether adding corticosteroids helps non-HIV immunocompromised adults with severe Pneumocystis pneumonia in the ICU. If you meet the criteria, you may be randomly assigned to receive either steroids plus standard care or standard care alone.

NCT07786662Not yet recruiting· Phase 3
Early steroids for severe flu pneumonia

This trial tests whether giving steroids early to people hospitalized with severe flu pneumonia can improve recovery and reduce complications. It may help by reducing lung inflammation.

NCT07351500Not yet recruiting· Phase 3
Testing steroids for severe flu pneumonia in adults

This study tests if giving steroids can help adults with severe pneumonia caused by the flu who are in the ICU. You may qualify if you are very sick with flu pneumonia and need a breathing tube or other intensive treatments.

NCT06892197Recruiting· Phase 4
Comparing two steroids for severe pneumonia

This trial compares two common steroid medicines, hydrocortisone and prednisolone, to see which works better for people with severe community-acquired pneumonia. It aims to find the best treatment to help you recover faster.
