AI screening for heart artery calcium in chest CTs
Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.
This trial tests if using AI to find calcium on chest CT scans can help doctors improve heart health. It's for people with heart disease or high calcium scores who need better cholesterol control.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You had a chest CT scan (without dye) within the last 2 years at this hospital system.
- You have seen a doctor here in the last 2 years, and you either have a health plan, a recent cholesterol test, or a heart medication prescription here.
- Your CT scan found some calcium in your heart arteries, and you either have known heart disease or the calcium score is 100 or more.
- Your bad cholesterol (LDL) is not well controlled, meaning it's 70 or higher, or you haven't checked it in the last 2 years.
- You do not have dementia, a heart transplant, or are in hospice care.

This research study uses an artificial intelligence program to screen old chest CT scans for calcium buildup in the heart arteries. If you are between 40 and 75 and have had a chest CT in the last 3 years, this may help identify if you are at risk for heart disease so you can take steps to prevent it.
This study uses artificial intelligence to analyze your heart CT scan and better predict your risk of coronary artery disease (narrowing of the arteries that supply your heart). The goal is to help doctors identify who might need earlier treatment or more careful monitoring.
This study uses artificial intelligence to look for signs of heart artery disease on a CT scan that doesn't require dye. It's for people with stable chest pain who have already had a specific type of CT scan.
This trial uses artificial intelligence (AI) to look at chest CT scans for signs of coronary artery disease. It may help find blockages without needing a separate heart-specific CT scan.
This trial builds and tests an AI system using information from a heart CT scan to help evaluate coronary artery disease (clogged heart arteries). If you need a CT coronary angiography for medical reasons, this may help improve how such scans are analyzed and used in care.
This study uses a CT scan of your heart (CCTA) and advanced computer analysis to see how well it can predict heart risks compared to detailed inside-look tests (IVUS, OCT, NIRS). If you have chest pain and have had certain heart scans, this trial may help doctors understand your condition better.
