Who can take part
- You have squamous non-small cell lung cancer that has advanced locally (stage IIIB/IIIC) or spread to other parts of the body (stage IV) and cannot be removed with surgery.
- You have not received any previous treatment for your advanced cancer, though if you had treatment earlier and the cancer returned more than a year after finishing, you might still qualify.
- You have not had immunotherapy before for your advanced cancer, but if you had it as part of earlier treatment and it progressed over a year ago, you may be allowed.
- You do not have certain gene changes in the tumor, like EGFR or ALK, that have approved targeted treatments.
- You must have at least one measurable tumor that is not in the brain and can be tracked with imaging.
- Your overall health is good enough to be up and about (ECOG score 0 or 1) and your organs, like kidneys, liver, and heart, are functioning within required limits.
