Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You are scheduled to have a lung lobe (or two lobes) removed by VATS, robotic, or open surgery
- You have at least one of the following: high risk for anesthesia (ASA 3), low lung function with poor exercise ability, low heart/lung fitness score, heart disease, or heart failure
- You are able to give written consent at the time you enter the hospital
- You do not have a history of blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism), severe lung artery pressure, or prior removal of a whole lung or lung lobe
