Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You are scheduled for heart surgery that opens your breastbone down the middle or upper part.
  • You are willing to follow all post-surgery care instructions.
  • You cannot have bone tumors, severe bone loss, or allergies to the implant materials (PEEK, carbon fiber, titanium, stainless steel).
  • You cannot be pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy within 6 months after surgery.
  • You must not be regularly using strong painkillers like morphine or oxycodone for chronic or acute pain.
