- You must be 19 years or older
- You are scheduled for surgery where you will be put under general anesthesia (completely asleep)
- You cannot have severely loose or wobbly teeth
- You cannot have a disease or injury of the neck bones (cervical spine)

- You cannot be pregnant
- You cannot have head or neck cancer or have had radiation therapy for it
