This study looks at how insulin resistance in the brain affects brain health. If you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes and are between 50 and 80 years old, you may be able to join to help researchers understand brain changes.

Who can take part
- You are between 50 and 80 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (for at least 10 years) or type 2 diabetes (for at least 5 years).
- You do not have dementia, a history of major stroke, or an active cancer (within the last year).
- You can safely undergo an MRI brain scan (no metal in your body, no severe claustrophobia).
- You are not taking any medications that cannot be paused for 12 hours.
- Your kidney function (eGFR) is above 45 and your blood sugar control (HbA1c) is below 100 mmol/mol.
