Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years old or younger when the procedure is done.
  • You have been diagnosed with a perimembranous ventricular septal defect (a specific type of hole between the lower chambers of the heart).
  • You have had the hole closed using a catheter (a thin tube) with a device.
  • Your medical records have the basic information needed for the study, like before and after procedure details.
  • You cannot have other types of holes in the heart (like muscular or complex holes) or other major heart problems that need surgery.
  • You cannot have had previous surgery or catheter procedure to close this hole.
