Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with an acute ischemic stroke (a stroke from a blocked blood vessel).
  • Your stroke symptoms started within the last 48 hours.
  • You have a small, single stroke in a specific area (perforating artery territory) seen on an MRI scan.
  • You have not already received clot-busting medication or a procedure to remove the clot for this stroke.
  • You do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure or other serious medical conditions that would make the study unsafe.
