Who can take part

  • You are having open surgery for type A aortic dissection.
  • Your body weight is between 132 and 220 pounds (60–100 kg).
  • Your hemoglobin level is above 120 (a measure of red blood cells).
  • Your platelet count is at least 120 (platelets help blood clot).
  • You can understand the study and agree to participate.
  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
