Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a diagnosis of high cholesterol (primary hypercholesterolemia) or mixed high cholesterol (mixed hyperlipidemia) and are already taking a stable dose of a statin medication.
  • Your LDL cholesterol levels must be at least 70 mg/dL if you have had a heart attack or stroke, or at least 100 mg/dL if you have not.
  • Your triglyceride levels must be 400 mg/dL or lower.
  • You are willing to stay on the same statin dose during the study and follow lifestyle advice (diet and exercise).
  • You agree to use reliable birth control if you are able to become pregnant or if you are a male not vasectomized.
