  • You have type 2 diabetes
  • You are between 40 and 65 years old
  • Your kidneys are moderately to severely damaged (stage 3 or 4 chronic kidney disease)
  • You have protein in your urine
  • Your diabetes is reasonably controlled (A1c below 10%)
  • Your blood pressure is in a stable range
