This study tests a device that sends mild electrical pulses to nerves in your lower legs to calm RLS symptoms, especially at night. It is for people whose RLS has worsened despite taking dopamine-agonist medications.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and have been diagnosed with Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS).
  • Your RLS is moderate to severe (score 15 or higher on a standard RLS rating scale).
  • You have been told that your RLS symptoms have gotten worse because of your dopamine-agonist medication (this is called 'augmentation').
  • You are currently taking a stable dose of a dopamine-agonist drug (like pramipexole or ropinirole) for at least 4 weeks, and the daily dose is at least the equivalent of 25 mg of levodopa.
  • You have RLS symptoms at night that wake you up at least 3 nights a week, and the symptoms are mostly in your lower legs or feet.
  • You are not pregnant, do not have certain medical conditions (like advanced kidney disease, iron deficiency anemia, severe heart disease, or epilepsy), and are not taking certain medications that can make RLS worse.
