Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have had rheumatoid arthritis for at least 6 months and it is currently active (with swollen and tender joints).
  • You have been taking methotrexate for at least 6 months (stable dose for at least 3 months).
  • You have been on a TNF inhibitor (like etanercept, adalimumab, or infliximab) for at least 6 months and it has only partially helped.
  • You have not tried more than one other biologic or targeted medication besides your current TNF inhibitor.
  • You are willing to use reliable birth control during and for 90 days after the study.
