Parathyroid surgery after kidney transplant

This trial looks at whether removing overactive parathyroid glands (parathyroidectomy) can help people who still have high calcium or low phosphate levels more than 6 months after a kidney transplant. If you have stable kidney function and meet certain blood test results, you may be able to join.

Who can take part
- At least 18 years old, legally competent, and able to understand Danish
- Kidney transplant done 6 or more months ago (no upper time limit)
- Stable kidney function with eGFR of 30 or higher
- Two separate blood tests showing high PTH and either high calcium or low phosphate (within specified time windows)
- Not currently on strong bone medications (bisphosphonate, denosumab, teriparatide, romosozumab)
- No prior parathyroid surgery and you must be healthy enough for surgery (not pregnant)
