Who can take part
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia) or SLL (small lymphocytic lymphoma) that requires treatment now.
- You must have at least one sign of active disease like a swollen lymph node (at least 1.5 cm), an enlarged spleen, a high white blood cell count, or bone marrow with more than 30% CLL cells.
- You must not have had any prior treatment for CLL/SLL, and you must have a lymph node that can be biopsied.
- You must be able to take oral pills and have adequate liver, kidney, and blood cell levels (as determined by blood tests).
- You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding, and you must use effective birth control during the study and for 1 month after.
