Bite adjustment for TMD: long-term follow-up

Who can take part

  • You had a dental bite adjustment (occlusal equilibration) for TMD pain at the University of Santiago.
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You have all your natural teeth or well-fitted crowns/bridges.
  • Before the adjustment, your pain was moderate to severe (rating 4-9 on a 0-10 scale).
  • You tried other TMD treatments (like mouth splints or physical therapy) for at least 6 months before the bite adjustment.
  • You do not have severe gum disease causing tooth looseness, or other major health conditions that affect pain.
