Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are in the ICU and expected to stay for at least 24 hours
  • You have a serious condition like sepsis, recent heart surgery, breathing failure, shock, or are on a breathing machine
  • You do not have a head injury or device that prevents special brain monitoring (EEG)
  • You do not have severe brain damage, major stroke, serious head injury, or moderate to severe dementia
