  • You or your family member are currently in the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You can give permission yourself, or a family member or friend can give permission for you.
  • You speak English.
  • Your ICU stay is expected to be at least 48 hours (2 days).
  • You do not have advanced dementia, severe liver disease, kidney dialysis, or a major brain injury (like a stroke or head trauma).
