Who can take part
- You must be a man 18 to 85 years old with advanced prostate cancer that has not been treated with hormone-blocking shots before.
- Your cancer should be confirmed by biopsy and be hormone-sensitive, meaning it still responds to hormone-lowering treatment.
- You must be willing to use effective birth control (or be abstinent) during the study and for 3 months after the last dose.
- You cannot have serious heart problems (like recent heart attack, unstable angina, or certain rhythm disorders) or poorly controlled diabetes.
- You cannot have taken certain medications that affect male hormones (like finasteride, dutasteride, or testosterone) within the past few weeks to months.
