HIFU vs observation for low-grade cervical precancer

This trial compares two approaches for women with a low-grade cervical precancer (LSIL) and a high-risk HPV infection. Half of the participants will receive a focused ultrasound treatment (HIFU) to the cervix, and the other half will be carefully watched without treatment. The goal is to see if HIFU helps the abnormal cells go away faster than observation alone.

Who can take part

  • You are a woman aged 18 or older who is still having menstrual periods (pre-menopausal).
  • You have a low-grade cervical abnormality (LSIL or CIN1) confirmed by biopsy, and a positive test for high-risk HPV.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have not had treatment for cervical precancer or cancer before.
  • You can attend two follow-up visits after the study starts.
