Accelerated pacing for right heart failure with severe tricuspid leak

Who can take part

  • Your resting heart rate is 65 beats per minute or slower, confirmed by an EKG.
  • You have right-sided heart failure that needs two or more daily doses of water pills to control swelling, or you still have some swelling even with those pills.
  • An ultrasound of your heart shows a severe leak in the tricuspid valve.
  • You may or may not already need a permanent pacemaker.
  • You are not taking certain heart rate-lowering medicines (like beta-blockers, digoxin, or ivabradine).
