  • You are 18 years or older and admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
  • You are not pregnant.
  • Your daily weight can be measured using the ICU bed scale.
  • You have a urinary catheter (tube that drains urine).
  • You do not have an open abdomen or open chest, and you are not on certain life support machines (ECMO).
