  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have had a scan (X-ray, CT, or MRI) of a bone or joint area
  • The area scanned has no birth defects or past injuries that changed its shape
  • You do not have any metal plates, screws, or implants in the bones being studied
  • You have not had a bone tumor or other cancer
  • You have not used steroid medication for a long time or had chemotherapy or radiation in the last 6 months
