Who can take part
- You are having one of these surgeries: total joint replacement, bone-cutting surgery (osteotomy), joint fusion (arthrodesis), or fracture surgery (hemi- or total hip replacement or internal fixation).
- Your surgery relates to osteoarthritis or a broken bone from low-speed injury or a fragility (bone-weakening) fracture.
- You are age 18 or older and can understand the study and consent (or have a legal way to consent if needed, based on the study team’s rules).
- You do not have a known or suspected bone infection (osteomyelitis).
- You do not have cancer that is suspected or confirmed, and you do not have a suspected or confirmed blood-borne infection (like some viruses).
- You are not currently enrolled in another study using an investigational medicine.
