Interval vs. continuous exercise for heart patients

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with heart disease and your doctor has recommended cardiac rehabilitation with supervised exercise.
  • Your condition is stable and well-controlled—no recent heart attack (within the last month) and no severe heart failure.
  • You are between 40 and 75 years old.
  • You can perform a basic exercise test and achieve a workload of at least 5 METs (a measure of exercise capacity).
  • You can attend exercise sessions twice a week for 8 weeks and give your written consent.
