Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have AML that is either newly diagnosed and you cannot have intensive chemo, or it has returned after previous treatment.
  • Your white blood cell count is below a certain level (can be lowered with hydroxyurea first).
  • Your liver and kidney function are adequate (simple blood tests can check).
  • You are able to swallow pills.
  • If you are of childbearing age, you agree to use effective birth control during and for 6 months after treatment.
