Who can take part
- You must have a confirmed diagnosis of myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) with a specific genetic change.
- You need to be able to walk 10 meters (about 33 feet) and stand up from a chair 5 times without assistance (braces below the ankle are okay).
- Your body mass index (BMI) must be under 35.
- You cannot have a history of congenital DM1 (the severe form present at birth).
- You must not have had major surgery within the past 12 weeks, unless it was for a pacemaker or defibrillator.
- You should not be using certain weight-loss medications (like Ozempic, Trulicity, or Mounjaro) within the study period.
