SAMe to prevent liver cancer in MASLD-related cirrhosis

Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD)

Who can take part

  • 18 years or older
  • Diagnosed with MASLD (fatty liver disease with metabolic risk factors like high blood sugar, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol)
  • Confirmed cirrhosis (scarring of the liver) from MASLD, not from other causes
  • Limit alcohol to less than 7 drinks per week for men or less than 4.5 drinks per week for women
  • Had a liver cancer screening (ultrasound, MRI, or CT) within the last 3 months
  • No history of liver cancer, other liver diseases, or recent serious infections
