  • Have intermediate-stage liver scarring (F2-F3)
  • Body mass index between 25 and 45
  • Stable medications for diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, or weight for at least 12 weeks
  • Willing to eat navy beans and answer diet questionnaires
