Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are scheduled to have surgery to remove a lobe or segment of your lung for lung cancer.
  • You have not received chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiation before this surgery.
  • Your cancer has not spread to other parts of your body, and you are not on medicines that suppress your immune system.
  • You have a CT scan of your chest taken within 30 days before surgery, and you are willing to have a nutrition and muscle assessment before surgery.
