High-Intensity Laser for Shoulder Pain After Stroke

Hemiplegia and/or Hemiparesis Following Stroke

This study tests whether a high-intensity laser can safely reduce shoulder pain in people who have had a stroke. If you are between 30 and 75, had a stroke in the last 6 months, and have moderate or worse shoulder pain on your weak side, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 75 years old.
  • You had a stroke within the last 6 months and now have shoulder pain on your weaker side.
  • Your shoulder pain is moderate or worse (score of 3 or more out of 10).
  • You do not have other neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's.
  • You have not had shoulder surgery, a steroid injection, or Botox in the last 6 months.
  • You are not pregnant, do not have epilepsy or light sensitivity, and have no history of cancer or severe memory problems.
