Who can take part

  • You are a male aged 18 or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with a urethral stricture (a narrowing in the tube that carries urine out of the body).
  • You are scheduled for a surgery to repair the stricture, done by using a piece of your cheek lining or by connecting the two healthy ends.
  • You have not used any antibiotics (pills or creams) on the genital area in the last week.
  • You do not have any skin problems (like cuts, rashes, or infections) around the perineum.
  • You can understand and follow instructions for preparing before surgery and coming in for checkups afterward.
