This study looks at how a condition called heterotopic gastric mucosa (HGM), which is stomach tissue in the wrong place in the esophagus, affects symptoms and quality of life. If you are scheduled for an upper endoscopy and are at least 18, you may be able to join.

Who can take part
- You are scheduled for an upper endoscopy (a scope down your throat to look at your stomach).
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You can complete some short questionnaires before the procedure.
- You have not been previously diagnosed with HGM.
- You have not had surgery on your throat or esophagus.
- You don't have severe memory problems, depression, or a serious neurological disorder like ALS or a recent stroke.
