- You are 18–74 years old and of Kazakh nationality
- You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (not type 1) within the last 5 years
- You have not had diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious blood sugar emergency) in the past 6 months
- You do not have cancer or a history of cancer
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant
- You do not have severe liver disease, autoimmune disease, or other serious chronic conditions
