Brain Stimulation for Memory Problems in Older Adults

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)

This study tests a new, non-invasive brain stimulation technique called transcranial temporal interference stimulation to see if it can improve memory and thinking skills in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (early memory loss that isn't yet dementia). Participants will receive the stimulation treatment and have their cognitive function monitored over time.

Who can take part

  • You are between 60 and 80 years old
  • You have mild cognitive impairment (early memory loss) confirmed by specific cognitive tests, but do not have dementia
  • You live independently in the community and can manage most daily activities on your own
  • You have no history of stroke, Parkinson's disease, seizures, or other neurological conditions affecting the brain
  • You have no metallic implants, pacemakers, or metal in your body that would prevent an MRI scan
  • You are not severely depressed and do not have other serious mental health conditions
