Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) by a lung specialist
  • You are 40 years old or older
  • Your blood sugar control is reasonably good (HbA1c below 9%)
  • You have not taken metformin in the past 3 months
  • If you take other IPF medications, you must have been on a stable dose for at least 8 weeks
  • You are able to swallow pills and provide informed consent
