Acupuncture for chronic tinnitus and hearing response
Part of Brain & nervous system, Ear, nose & throat clinical trials.
This study tests whether acupuncture can help reduce chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and improve how your auditory nerve responds to sound. Researchers will use a hearing test called an auditory brainstem response to measure any changes.

This study is testing whether acupuncture can help treat tinnitus by using a special brain imaging technique (fNIRS) to see how the brain responds. It may help find out who benefits most from acupuncture.
This trial tests whether real acupuncture helps more than a placebo version for people with long-term tinnitus. If you have had tinnitus for at least 6 months and have not responded to other treatments, this study may help find a better way to manage your symptoms.
This trial tests whether acupuncture (needle insertion at specific body points) can reduce bothersome ringing in the ears that started within the last 6 months. The study enrolls people with primary tinnitus—ringing not caused by another diagnosed condition—to see if acupuncture helps.
This study tests a traditional Chinese medicine treatment called 'Dao qi Tong Luo' for chronic tinnitus. It uses a safe brain scan (fNIRS) to see how the treatment affects brain connections related to hearing.
This study tests whether adding sound and/or mild electrical stimulation can reduce tinnitus (ringing or other noises in the ear). It is looking for adults who have had tinnitus for at least 6 months and can complete questionnaires about what they feel.
This trial combines sound therapy with electrical stimulation and auditory training to reduce chronic tonal tinnitus. It may help if you have had constant ringing in your ears for more than 3 months but less than 5 years.
