Who can take part
- Age 30 to 80 years old
- Diagnosis of primary angle-closure glaucoma or primary angle-closure disease, or be a healthy control with open angles in the eye
- Minimal lens clouding (cataracts) — only mild cloudiness allowed
- No prior eye surgery or laser treatment
- No other eye diseases (corneal, iris, retinal, or optic nerve problems)
- Able to lie flat for ultrasound imaging of the eye

This study examines how proteins in the eye lens support structures change in patients with angle-closure glaucoma. Researchers will compare these proteins in people with glaucoma who have loose or normal support structures during surgery, and in people without glaucoma having cataract surgery.
