Who can take part

  • You are at least 20 years old and scheduled for a primary (first-time) knee replacement on one leg
  • Your overall health is stable enough for surgery (ASA physical status I–III)
  • You can walk on your own without help before surgery
  • You can straighten your knee to less than 30 degrees before surgery (no tight knee contracture)
  • You have no severe allergies to numbing medications or neurological conditions affecting leg strength
  • You understand the study and can give written permission to participate
