Who can take part
- Your child has been diagnosed with Kawasaki disease and has coronary artery abnormalities (heart blood vessel damage)
- Your child is within 20 days of Kawasaki disease onset, OR more than 20 days but inflammation is still not controlled
- Your child has already received or is currently receiving IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) or other anti-inflammatory treatments
- You and your child's guardians agree to give atorvastatin and sign the consent form
- Your child has not taken statins before and does not have a family history of very high cholesterol
- Recent blood tests show normal muscle and liver function, and cholesterol levels in an acceptable range
