  • Age 35–75 years old
  • Knee pain from a degenerative (wear-and-tear) meniscus tear confirmed by MRI, not from an injury
  • Pain level of at least 4 out of 10
  • Willingness to do physical therapy or light exercise during the study
  • No recent knee or ligament surgery (within the past 12 months)
  • No recent injections of steroids or hyaluronic acid into the knee (within the past 12 months)
