Who can take part

  • You have heart disease with blockages (stable angina, heart attack symptoms, or silent ischemia) in at least two major heart arteries
  • If you recently had a heart attack (STEMI), you must be at least 48 hours past your emergency procedure with no blood clots in your treated vessel
  • The blocked sections you need treated are between 2.25 and 4.0 millimeters wide (measured by angiography)
  • Your blocked vessels are straight enough and not too hardened to allow safe balloon or stent placement
  • You are willing and able to follow all study visits and procedures for the full duration
  • You do not have severe heart failure, life expectancy under 2 years, or allergies to contrast dye, cobalt-chromium, paclitaxel, or sirolimus
