Who can take part

  • You are aged 12–22 and have a parent or guardian who can help monitor you for 3 months
  • You have been diagnosed with major depression and have moderate-to-severe depression symptoms (HAMD-17 score of 18 or higher)
  • In the past 2 weeks before joining, you've deliberately hurt yourself (without trying to end your life) at least twice, and have done this more than 5 days total in the past year
  • You and your guardian both agree to participate and sign consent forms
  • You do not have other serious mental health conditions like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or severe ADHD
  • You have no pacemakers, metal implants, or brain injuries that would make brain stimulation unsafe
