Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have bipolar disorder and are currently in a depressed episode (confirmed by a clinical interview)
  • Your depression symptoms are moderate to severe (based on a standard screening test)
  • You are either not taking antidepressants, or have been on a stable dose for at least 6 weeks
  • You are under the care of a GP (general practitioner) who can be informed about your participation
  • You have never had previous brain stimulation treatments like TMS, ECT, or deep brain stimulation
