Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older
- You were admitted to the hospital with sepsis (serious infection in the bloodstream)
- You do not have acute kidney injury (sudden loss of kidney function) at the time of admission
- You do not have active cancer
- You have not had a heart attack, stroke, or other major heart event in the last 3 months
- Your heart can be clearly seen on ultrasound (good imaging window)
