Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are already scheduled for bariatric (weight-loss) surgery for medical reasons
- Your heart's main pumping chamber works well (ejection fraction of 50% or higher)
- You can safely have a cardiac CT scan with contrast dye
- You do not have a pacemaker, defibrillator, prosthetic heart valve, or certain other heart devices
- You do not have a history of cardiomyopathy, sarcoidosis, amyloidosis, myocarditis, or significant heart valve disease
