Who can take part
- You have at least one kidney artery that is narrowed by 60% or more.
- Your blood pressure is hard to control: either very high (over 160/100) without medication, or still high (over 140/90) even when taking three blood pressure drugs.
- Your kidney function is stable enough: serum creatinine is under 264 μmol/L (about 3.0 mg/dL) and the affected kidney is at least 7 cm long.
- You are not allergic to contrast dye (used in imaging tests).
- Your kidney artery is suitable for stenting (not too small or too large, and the narrowing is due to hardening of the arteries, not other causes).
