Vagus Nerve Stimulation for Teen Burn Recovery

This study tests a non-invasive device placed on the ear that stimulates the vagus nerve (a major nerve that affects stress and healing) to help adolescents recovering from burns feel less anxious, sleep better, and experience less pain and itching. Who can take part

  • Be between 12 and 18 years old
  • Have a burn injury that happened 1 to 12 months ago (past the immediate emergency phase)
  • Have second- or third-degree burns covering 5–30% of your body surface
  • Experience at least one of these: anxiety, sleep problems, pain, or itching from the burn
  • Have no serious ear skin problems (infection, open wounds, or scar tissue) that would prevent wearing the device
  • Be able to read and understand Turkish, with a parent or guardian able to consent
