  • Age 18–40 years old
  • Recreationally active: exercise 2–8 hours per week
  • Good overall health confirmed by a sports medicine doctor
  • Body composition within healthy range (below 20% body fat for men, 25% for women)
  • Currently sleeping well (no existing sleep problems)
  • Willing to use effective birth control for 4 months after the study ends
